Amalia Kontolemos, BSW
YAD Program Coordinator

My name is Amalia and I hold a Bachelor of Social Work Degree from York University. During my time as a social work student, I was fortunate enough to complete my cooperative placement at The Centre For Dreams. While I have always had a passion for working with individuals with developmental disabilities, my placement experience further ignited my desire to work within the developmental disability sector and be an advocate for positive change.

My time at The Centre for Dreams gave me the opportunity to successfully co-write a grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation Resilient Communities Fund. The Youth Achieving Dreams (YAD) Program was born out of this funding and will implement an evening and weekend, skills-based program for youth living with a developmental and/or intellectual disability. I am very humbled and excited to lead the Youth Achieving Dreams program, and also work part-time as a program supervisor for our adult day program.

While working from a strength-based perspective, I enjoy supporting our wonderful members in achieving their goals and building healthy relationships. In my free time I love to play sports, practice mindfulness, and spend time with family and friends.
