What is it?
Prep to Plate is a hands-on, skill-building cooking program designed to support independence, safety, and confidence in the kitchen. Across three progressive levels, individuals will develop practical cooking skills, from basic food preparation to meal planning and independent cooking all in a supportive and engaging group environment.
The program emphasizes real-life application, allowing individuals to build skills they can use at home and in the community. Through hands-on practice, repetition, and guided support, individuals will gain confidence, develop healthy habits, and experience a sense of pride and accomplishment in their ability to prepare food for themselves and others.
No prior cooking experience is required. Activities are adapted to meet a range of abilities, with support provided as needed to ensure a safe, inclusive, and empowering experience for all individuals.
Prep to Plate Level 1
Program Descripton:
In this welcoming culinary course, participants build fundamental kitchen skills and confidence in a hands-on setting. Through weekly cooking sessions, learners practice kitchen safety, following simple recipes, basic knife skills, meal preparation, and cleanup. Recipes range from snacks to full dishes, designed for real-world use and success. Weekly they will be able to share what they have learned and enjoy the food they prepared.
