Social Foundations

What is it?

Social Foundations is a Social Skills program focused on building meaningful relationships and social confidence. Through group activities, collaborative games, and guided conversations, participants practice communication skills, friendship building, teamwork, and social problem-solving. Whether it’s navigating small talk, reading social cues, or joining community events, Social Foundations encourages connection, confidence, and belonging.

Social Foundations

Participant Readiness:

  • Are interested in building confidence in social situations

  • Would benefit from developing verbal and/or non-verbal communication skills

  • Are comfortable participating in group activities and discussions

  • Are interested in building and maintaining positive relationships
     

Program Learning Outcomes:

  • Practice effective communication skills including listening, turn-taking, and expressing needs through role play scenarios.

  • Build confidence initiating and maintaining conversations and friendships.

  • Recognize and respond to social cues in a variety of settings.

  • Develop strategies for managing conflict and navigating social challenges.

  • Experience a sense of belonging through positive group participation and shared activities.
