Adult Day Program

The Centre for Dreams Adult Day Program provides a curriculum designed specifically for adults living with an intellectual and developmental disability. We provide these special individuals with educational programs and social skills training with the hopes of integrating them into the community - both independently and confidently. We want to ensure that they will become productive, independent, dignified and respected members therein.

We provide the opportunities and the means for our adult and senior members to focus on their abilities and not their disabilities through educational, social and life skill programs.  We strive to help our members fulfill their goals and dreams and let them decide what is best for them. We offer a diverse and interactive learning environment, providing educational and social skill services to enhance the confidence and independence of our members.

Living a healthy and happy lifestyle is an integral part of quality of life.  With this in mind, we take a look at some essential life skills for adults living with a developmental disability and teach them throughout our program. Healthy eating, exercise, and personal hygiene can make you feel better and look better.

Life Skills

At The Centre for Dreams, we focus on everyone’s strengths and what their skills and interests are.  We provide opportunities for people to learn about themselves, explore their strengths and challenges, develop interpersonal communication skills, employability skills and build relationships with others.

Social Skills

A focus on academic subjects is crucial for each member to have a foundational understanding of the world and to apply these skills practically. As a team we work to incorporate these elements into all sections of our programming to ensure independence, understanding and growth.

Academics

Diverse art programs foster self-expression, cognitive growth, and social skills. Offerings include Art Therapy, Music Therapy, and more, providing communication avenues. Enriching lives through personalized sessions and group activities, each program is tailored to support individual abilities.

We offer initiatives for member well-being. Culinary skills like safety, food storage, and menu building, as well as daily movements for overall well-being create a baseline for the futures of our members. The Centre also joins the Challenger Baseball program, fostering inclusivity and resilience.
